Arrive into Chennai
Welcome to Vardhman's "Tamil Nadu With North India Tour". On
arrival in Chennai, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's representative
to your hotel.

Day 2 Chennai - Mahabalipuram
This morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Chennai
Visit Fort St. George, San Thome Cathedral and the museum to see the
Art and Bronze Gallery. (Closed on Fridays and Public holidays). High
court, Marina Beach, San Thome Cathedral and Snake Park.
Afternoon drive to Mahabalipuram.
Upon arrival at Mahabalipuram check into your hotel.

Day 3 Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram
After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Mahabalipuram.
Mahabalipuram, driving south of Madras on the coast lies Mamallapuram
(Mahabalipuram), the ancient port of Pallavas. The pallavas have created
many marvellous monuments with sculptural panels, caves, Monolithic
Rathas and Temples. Krishna Mandapam, has a big bas relief, notable
for its realistic representation. The world's largest bas relief measuring
27m x 9m, whale back shaped rock contains figures of gods, demi-gods,
men .beasts, birds and representation of the entire creation. Shore
Temple, one of the oldest in south dating back to 8th century AD is
a good example of the first phase of structural temples constructed
in Dravidian style. The Five Rathas, a group of five monolithic temples,
each created in different style.
Excursion to Kanchipuram
Kanchipuram, 70 kms west of Mahabalipuram, this city of thousand temples
lies. One of the seven sacred cities of Hindus, it was the capital of
the early Cholas as far back as the 2nd century BC. Kanchi was a major
seat of Tamil learning as well as an important place of pilgrimage for
Buddhists, Jains and Hindus. Apart from temples, the city is also famous
for its silk weavers, settled here some 400 years ago and have given
it an enviable reputation. Evening return drive back to Mahabalipuram.

Day 4 Mahabalipuram - Tanjore
Early morning drive to Tanjore. Upon arrival at Tanjore check into your
hotel.
Later visit to Brihadewswara Temple also known as the 'Big Temple',
built by the Chola dynasty. The Art Gallery and the Saraswathi Mahal
Library are also well known places of interest.

Day 5 Tanjore - Trichy - Madurai
This morning after breakfast drive to Madurai enroute visit Trichy.
Srirangam: 5 kms from Trichy, located in an island is Srirangam. Surrounded
by the Kaveri water is a 600 acre island town enclosed within the seven
walls on the gigantic Sri Ranganathaswami temple. There are no less
than 22 gopurams, one of which is the tallest in India. The 72 m high
13 tiered gopuram dominates the landscape for miles around.
Rock Fort :The Rock Fort situated on the banks of the Kaveri river,
Trichy's most famed land mark is an 84 m high rock, one of the oldest
in the world aprox.3,800 million years. The attraction is not for fort
itself but the temple at the summit. 344 steps hewn out of rock lead
to the top where are the inscriptions dating back to the 3rd century
B.C.
Later drive to Madurai and on arrival, check-in at the hotel.

Day 6 Madurai - Mumbai (By flight)
Today morning visit to Meenakshi Sundareshwar, one of the largest temple
complexes in India built between the 16th and 18th centuries.
In time transfer to the Madurai airport to catch flight for Mumbai.
Upon arrival at Mumbai check into your hotel.

Day 7 Mumbai - Udaipur (By flight)
After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Mumbai.
Visit the Gateway of India, Elephanta Caves, Marine drive & Prince
Wales Museum etc.
In time transfer to the mumbai airport to catch flight for Udaipur.
Upon arrival at Udaipur check into your hotel.

Day 8 Udaipur
This morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Udaipur.
Visit the garden of the Maids of Honour, the Jagdish Temple and Bhartiya
Lok Kala Museum. At sunset you can cruise around in a boat amidst the
romantic waters of Lake Pichola.

Day 9 Udaipur - Jaipur (By flight)
Morning at leisure.
In time transfer to the Udaipur airport to catch flight for Jaipur.
Upon arrival at Jaipur check into your hotel.

Day 10 Jaipur
City tour of Jaipur
This morning you will experience the wonders of this magicial pink city,
as you proceed on a tour of Amber fort - which is set on the dry wrinkled
Aravali Hills, and surrounded by fortified battlements. We will ride
up to this hilltop palace on a caparisoned, painted elephant. Later
visit the Jagmandir or the Hall of victory glitterning with mirrors,
Maharaja's City Palace and the Observatory - The Solar Observatory -
an astronomical treasure house, with solar device that give accurate
predictions till date. The City Palace reflects a blend of Rajasthani
and Mughal architecture. Drive past Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds,
a five-storied structure of pink sandstone with semi-octagonal and delicately
honeycombed windows overlooking the main street of the old city and
through the rose pink residential and business areas of Jaipur.

Day 11 Jaipur - Agra
After breakfsat drive to Agra. Enroute visit the abandoned Mughal city
of Fatehpur Sikri : built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital
of the Mughals, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of
water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of
Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved
in its original glory.
Continue drive to Agra. Upon arrival at Agra check into your hotel.

Day 12 Agra
After breakfast proceed on a city tour of Agra.

Visit Taj Mahal (Closed on Friday), Red fort & Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula.
Later you will visit a marble gallery - the flagship store in Agra which
offers an excellant range of white marble, fashionable wear & exotic
wooden articles, truly a one stop shop.

Day 13 Agra - Khajuraho (By flight)
Today after breakfast transfer to the airport to catch flight for Khajuraho.
Upon arrival at Khajuraho check into your hotel.

Day 14 Khajuraho - Varanasi (By flight)
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tour of the FAMOUS TEMPLES
of KHAJURAHO.
Later in time transfer to airport to catch flight for Varanasi. Upon
arrival at Varanasi check into your hotel.
Spend the evening shopping in the lanes of Varanasi.

Day 15 Varanasi - Delhi (By flight)
Early morning boat ride at the river Ganges. Return to hotel for breakfast.
Later we leave for Sarnath at a distance of 12 Kms from Varanasi, where
Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after Enlightenment.
In time transfer to airport to catch flight for Delhi. Upon arrival
at Delhi check into your hotel.

Day 16 Delhi
Today after breakfast proceed on a city tour of New & Old Delhi.
Later proceed on a tour of the city, which includes the main attraction
like Qutab Minar, Humayun's tomb, Lakshminarayan Temple, a modern Hindu
Temple, Parliament House, Government Secretarial Building and Connaught
place, the shopping centre of New Delhi.
Visit Red Fort, built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan, Jama Masjid,
one of the largest Mosque of India, Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana, the cremation
sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Also drive past Chandni
Chowk, shopping centre of Old Delhi.
In time transfer to the Delhi airport to catch flight for your onward
